Board Meeting Minutes

April 5, 2012

• The business meeting was held at St Francis Hospital-Memphis and was called to order at 6:10 pm by John Bandura, President.
• The minutes from the March 1, 2012 meeting were submitted by Angela Phillips, Secretary, and approved as written.  (Moved: Triplett, 2^nd: Broadhead)
• The treasurer’s report was not presented and will be presented at the May meeting. 

• Student Liaison Report: none given
• Old business discussed:
• The blog, www.memphislablinks.blogspot.com, is now live
• New business discussed:
• There is no TALC this year, but we will have a Tri-State meeting in Tunica, MS with MS and LA.  Student Bowl will be on April 10 with educational sessions on April 11-13 at Harrah’s.  Session info is being confirmed and will be sent via email and posted on the blog as soon as it is available.  First time new members of ASCLS will get an extended 17-month membership if joining at the meeting.
• National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is April 22-28, 2012
• Darius Wilson is seeking nominations for next year’s MSCLS positions, and elections will be held at the May meeting
• The TABB meeting will be held in Memphis, May 3-4
• The ASCLS Annual Meeting is in LA, CA July 17-21
• Announcements:
• There are several job openings in the Memphis Area:
• SFH-B, St. Jude, West Clinic, SFH-M
• Next meeting: Baptist Memphis on May 3 at 6:00pm

• After the business meeting, the continuing education session was presented by Angela Phillips and Rebecca Rogers—Legislative Update.
