Message from ASCLS about the CLMA Merger

We at ASCLS would like to share with you the decision of the CLMA board to discontinue our merger discussions.  ASCLS is proud of the efforts we made towards this merger and are very disappointed that the CLMA board reached this decision; but we in ASCLS will always stand committed and ready to work to bring the laboratory community together.

    • MSCLS will donate $200 to the Ann Bell Scholarship Fund at UTHSC (Moved: Rogers, 2nd: Clark)
    • There is no TALC this year, but we will have a Tri-State meeting in Tunica, MS with MS and LA.  Student Bowl will be on April 10 with educational sessions on April 11-13 at Harrah’s.  Session info is being confirmed and will be sent via email and posted on the blog as soon as it is available.  First time new members of ASCLS will get an extended 17-month membership if joining at the meeting.
    • Rebecca Rogers announced that you can now choose to have your CE Organizer PACE data merged with your BOC Certification Maintenance Program info.
    • Please email Wes Williamson if you would like to serve as a delegate to the National Meeting. (ASCLS Annual Meeting is July 17-21 in Los Angeles, CA)
    • National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is April 22-28, 2012
    • Darius Wilson is seeking nominations for next year’s MSCLS positions
    • An MSCLS awards event will be held this summer
