Board Meeting Minutes

February 2, 2012

• The business meeting was held at Baptist Memphis and was called to order at 6:10 pm by John Bandura, President.

• The minutes from the January 5, 2012 meeting were submitted by Angela Phillips, Secretary, and approved as written.  (Moved: Clary, 2^nd: Ingram)
• The treasurer’s report was presented by Donna Clary, Treasurer, and approved as written. (Moved: Ingram, 2^nd: Heisse).  Donna Clary stated that a memorial donation for Steve Nichols had been given.
• Student Liaison Report: none given
• Old business discussed:
• John Bandura, President, spoke on increasing membership
• The blog, www.memphislablinks.blogspot.com, is now live
• New business discussed:
• CLEC is Feb 23-25 in Salt Lake City, Utah
• Legislative Symposium is March 19-20 in Washington, DC
• TABB is May 3-4, 2012 at Springhill Suites by Mariott in Memphis
• There is no TALC this year, but we will have a Tri-State meeting in Tunica, MS with MS and LA.  Student Bowl will be on April 10 with educational sessions on April 11-13 at Harrah’s.
• ASCLS Annual Meeting is July 17-21 in Los Angeles, CA
• Announcements:
• There are several job openings in the Memphis Area:
• Baptist Memphis, SFH-B, St. Jude
• Next meeting: QuantiFERON for TB Screening (Cell Mediated Immune Response), presented by Denise Adamson, MT at St. Francis-Bartlett, on March 1, 2012 at 6:00pm

• After the business meeting, the continuing education session was presented by John Scripture of Cepheid on the topic “Molecular Technology in the Laboratory”.
