Manufacturing Technologist Job Description

Profile:   Participates in all activities related to the manufacture of Hemo bioscience products.  This position is responsible for following standard operating procedures and good laboratory practices to assure products are manufactured to meet internal and customer specifications.

Manufacturing Technologist Duties and Responsibilities

1. Adheres to manufacturing schedule to ensure products are prepared and released to inventory to meet shipping deadlines.
2. Follows SOPs and practices good laboratory practices to ensure products are manufactured to meet specifications.

3.       Assists with ordering and inventory of all raw materials, laboratory supplies and reagents.

4.        Participates in all aspects of the manufacturing process from receipt of raw material to release of the finished product.

5. Responsible for documentation.
6. Provides suggestions for better production and staff performance.
7. Assists management for various production related duties. 

Manufacturing Technologist Education, Training and Qualifications

MT(ASCP) or equivalent

Blood Bank experience desirable

Manufacturing Technologist Skills and Specifications

1.       Excellent organizational skills

2. Good interpersonal & communication skills
3. Good decision making , judgment and troubleshooting skills

Board Meeting Minutes

November 8, 2012

• The business meeting was held at Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis and was called to order at 6:05pm by Krystal Triplett, President-Elect.
• Getting to know ASCLS: John Bandura reported that the next ASCLS-TN board of director’s meeting will be on November 17^th.
• The minutes from the October 4^th meeting were submitted by Wes Williamson, Secretary, and approved as written.  (Moved: Rogers, 2^nd:Bandura)
• The treasurer’s report was presented by Amy Cox, Treasurer, and approved as written. (Moved: Jamison, 2^nd: Clary)
• Student Liaison Report: Matthews spoke to students at UTHSC about being the ASCLS-TN student delegate.
• Old business discussed:
• Reminder to renew memberships and subscriptions- the new year began in August.
• Attendees were encouraged to post meeting flyers at work.
• Still working on plans for a student day- difficulty finding a location
• New business discussed:
• December 13^th is the date for the Holiday Celebration. The theme will be tacky Christmas sweater.
• Announcements:
• There are several job openings in the Memphis Area:
• St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett: two fulltime night shift positions
• St. Francis Hospital-Memphis: one fulltime phlebotomist, fulltime day shift position in core lab, fulltime position in blood bank
• Adjournment:
• Meeting adjourned at 6:15pm by Krystal Triplett, President-Elect.
• After the business meeting, the continuing education session was presented by Matthew Wagner of Sebia on the topic Capillary Technology.
